Cheryl Beaumont
Cheryl is an Accredited Specialist in Family Law and is also a registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.
Cheryl holds Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Western Sydney and graduated with Distinction in the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice through the College of Law. Cheryl also has a Bachelor of Communications from the University of Western Sydney.
Since her admission as a solicitor, Cheryl has practiced in a wide range of fields including family law, criminal law, civil litigation, workers compensation, commercial law, Conveyancing and wills and estates.
In 2017, Cheryl received her Specialist Accreditation in Family Law and became and Accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner. In 2018 Cheryl also completed her specialist training to become a qualified Collaborative Law Practitioner. In April 2020, Cheryl was appointed to the Independent Children's Lawyer Panel by Legal Aid NSW and is now qualified to act as an ICL, representing the best interests of children in Family Law disputes before the Court.
Cheryl now specialises in the fields of family law, criminal law and mediation.
Cheryl is a skilled negotiator and is often able to settle family law matters without the need for clients to proceed to Court. Cheryl recognises that dealing with separation is a stressful time for clients and her empathetic approach puts clients at ease. When negotiations are not fruitful, Cheryl is a skilled court advocate who is able to achieve great results for our clients.
Prior to becoming a solicitor, Cheryl worked in communications both as a journalist for several magazines and a Communications Manager for local government. Cheryl's communication skills assist her in being able to prepare effective and concise communication on behalf of clients and also to prepare efficient Court documents that achieve the best possible outcome for clients.
